a) LANCER ( G Behr) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped THE ALCHEMIST (A Andrews) inwards towards the running rail, which resulted in Jockey A Andrews becoming unbalanced and was dislodged.
b) BORN ON A BLUE DAY (S Veale) jumped awkwardly losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride.
c) SEATTLE CAPTAIN (D Ashby) jumped awkwardly losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride.

a) The Start was reviewed regarding THE ALCHEMIST (A Andrews) in stall gate 1, which was bumped by LANCER (G Behr) which jumped inwards, and resulted in Jockey A Andrews becoming dislodged. After reviewing the patrol films the colt was declared to be a runner.
b) BORN ON A BLUE DAY (S Veale) and WISH TO LAND (A Domeyer) raced green.
c) COPPER FORCE (G Cheyne), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A E Sands was advised. (SN)
