a) CRAVEN (A Fortune) kicked in the stalls was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.
b) WINE DARK SEA (K Zechner) was restless in the stalls.
c) RINJANI (AUS) (G van Niekerk) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: (NS)
a) GIANTINMYHEART (D Dillon) pulled hard in the early stages.
b) Approaching the 1100m PERGOLA (D Ashby) and CRAVEN (A Fortune) were carried out by COMMANDER BOND (C Orffer) which had difficulty negotiating the first part of the bend.
c) At the 300m ICE RIDGE (G Behr) which was hanging out rolled out and made contact with COMMANDER BOND (C Orffer).
d) Jockey A Domeyer (DARK CHESTNUT) reported that he felt something amiss with this colt in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt on his return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report.
d) CRAVEN (A Fortune), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee D H Awotar, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was advised. (SN)
