THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GUILTY PLEASURE (A Domeyer) which was restless in the stalls, dropped her head down, broke through the front gate was immediately restrained, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and reloaded.
b) LEAVES OF GRASS (AUS) (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls.
c) CALL ME DARLING (H v d Hoven) and CAIPOEIRA (J Jordaan) were slow losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride.

a) In view of the reported from the Starter concerning GUILTY PLEASURE, Trainer W A Nel will be advised that this filly’s starting stall certificate has been withdrawn in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
b) Shortly after the start from a wide draw SABINA’S DYNASTY (G van Niekerk) was bumped outwards by PUT THE BERRIES (G Cheyne), which was carried out by CALL ME DARLING (H v d Hoven), and then SABINA’S DYNASTY (G van Niekerk) was forced to take up a position at the rear of the field to obtain cover. On entering the straight the SABINA’S DYNASTY (G van Niekerk) was unable to switch out when held in by PUT THE BERRIES (G Cheyne) and then was held up on the heels of CALL ME DARLING (H v d Hoven) and had to be switched out to continue her run at the 300m. Trainer S J Snaith confirmed that the riding instruction given to Jockey G van Niekerk was to ride the filly with cover from an outside draw. The Board was satisfied after giving regard to the circumstances which occurred during the running of this race that SABINA’S DYNASTY (G van Niekerk) was ridden and raced on merit.
c) GUILTY PLEASURE (A Domeyer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W A Nel was advised. (SN)
