Worldwide
Worldwide scored in the 1st race at Newmarket last night.
The Matchett-trained horse might have cheered up the trainer
who is currently in Denmark, attending his father-in-law's
funeral.
Worldwide was prepared by assistants Darryn McConkey and
Sarah Clarke. Darryn was pretty confident before the race, as
Worldwide had run forth in his last outing to Friedburg,
who had come out of the Tradinet formline.
Randal Simons had opted to ride the first-timer stable companion,
Midnight Streaker and Martinius had taken the ride on Clean
Getaway for Roy Magner.
Darryn said, "I then engaged the likeable Donavan Habib and we were
lucky, as the Laird first timer Pick Six got left by five and
might have beaten us."
