Elusive Fort... (see result)

...gave the Mike De Kock 4 yold filly, Quickwood, 5,5 kgs and won by 1 length. Although he won in fine style, I would have expected a bit of distance between Elusive Fort and Quickwood, (no disrespect to Quickwood), and yes, I know it was only 1400m.

The only things I can think of is (1), he may have needed it or (2), champion jockey, Mark Khan, made like David Blaine and created an illusion!

Either way, we will see the best of Woodruff's fine champion in his next few starts. Don’t read too much into the run of the Charles Laird trained Hunting Tower who certainly will come on with this run, as it seems as if Charles is building up Hunting Tower's stamina and both trainers must have their eye on the big races coming up.
